  • Latinos are the largest minority population in the United States.1
  • Between 2000 and 2017, the percentage of Latino/Hispanic school-age children increased from 16% to 25%.2
  • 31.9% of Latinos under 18 live in poverty versus 12.3% of non-Latino Whites in 2014.3
  • The median income for a Latino family in 2014 was $42,491 versus $60,256 for a non-Latino White family.4
  • Over 25% of public elementary students are Latino.

  • In 2014-2015, the high school graduation rate for Latinos in the state of Georgia was 72%.
  • Georgia was ranked second for growth rate of Latinos among US states between 2000 and 2006 at 59.4%.
  • As of 2015, Latinos made up 10.7% of Atlanta's regional population  
  • Atlanta Public Schools serves more than 3,900 Latino students.
  • Atlanta’s “North Cluster” serves more than 1,800 Latino students, over 21% of the school population.8 The North Atlanta Cluster is comprised of Bolton Academy, E. Rivers, Garden Hills, Morris Brandon, Sarah Smith, Warren T. Jackson, Sutton Middle School and North Atlanta High School.
