Due to COVID-19, LaAmistad has decided to suspend all in person programming until further notice. Although we are not offering in person English classes at this time, we are grateful for the opportunity to offer our very first virtual English for Successful Living (ESL) classroom. The virtual ESL classrooms are open to anyone in the community that wants to learn English regardless of origin. To participate in online classes, students must have access to a reliable Internet /data connection for video using a computer, mobile phone or tablet. The curriculum consists of 6 levels of ESL classes that can be completed in 3 years. Our teachers are friendly and knowledgeable.  

The Spring session begins the week of April 18th, 2022 and will end the week of June 30th, 2022.  Virtual classes will be twice a week for 1.5 hours.  

For the Spring session, our volunteer-led instructional program offers the immigrant population at large the opportunity to take English classes online with an instructor in a virtual classroom setting. The standard registration fee is $50 per course every 10 weeks. Our volunteers are trained and mentored by experienced and certified ESL professionals. 

Our curriculum focuses on the usage of English for everyday situations and provides preparation for academic purposes. Upon successfully completing the 3-year program, ESL graduates have the tools to meet their personal, academic, and employment goals.
